The growth and progress in Saskatchewan Handball was evident as the Land of the Living Skies won their first ever national championship on home court at the Junior Men's (U21) Championships. The tournament also acted as a great promotional event for handball as part of the ParticipAction 150 celebrations that saw hundreds of players come to get active.

In the National Youth Championships, it was Alberta #1 that prevailed in both boys and girls competitions with Dawn Song leading all scorers with 55 in the girls category while Matthew Grohs won the leading scorer title in the boys division with 46 strikes.
