Amazing action captivates crowds at Celtique International

It was a wild weekend of action in the men's and women's competitons at the 7th annual Celtique Thanksgiving International Classic in Montreal this past weekend. Teams from Canada and the United States came together to crown champions and the competition was fierce across the board.
Spread across two venues including the home of handball in the 1976 Olympics, Claude Robillard Sporting Complex, that features a full IHF regulation sized court.
Saturday's action produced a slate of great games from start to finish including the final game of the day that resulted in a thrilling 24-24 tie in the men's division between Boston Handball and renowned military academy West Point of New York.
Sunday did not disappoint at all with the women's final featuring hosts Celtique facing off a talented and resilient West Point Black. Both squads went at it hard right from the opening whistle and battled back and forth throughout the game. However, it was the local side that prevailed in the end by edging out West Point by a tight 19-17 score.
In the men's final it was long standind rivalry between clubs from Montreal and Quebec City as elite local club CHAC faced off against the visitors from Levis. With a few national team players in this match the quality was in abundance and the pace very aggressive which ended up with a few cards being issued early on in the first half.
The goalkeepers also provided glimpes of brilliance with a series of big time saves. The game went right to the very end as CHAC were able to stave off the Levis offense en route to a 22-20 victory in front of their home supporters.
